Made from grapes grown on a single vineyard located in S. Cristina (Mezzana), known to be one of the most interesting areas of the Denomination. This wine is testimony to the peculiarity of this vineyard that has an excellent vocation to produce grapes of only the highest quality, expressing the depth and organoleptic richness of the great wines of Carmignano, combined with the freshness and elegance that the great terroir is able to express and guarantee over time. This is a Cru in which tradition of the land merges with modern interpretation. The grapes are hand-picked and vinified in small containers and fermented with natural yeasts, resting with skin contact for 18-20 days plus punching and pumping-over. The wine is then transferred to small French wood containers to ferment for at least 15 months, followed by bottling without filtration or clarification where it refines for a further 6 months before release. Deep, intense ruby red colour with a complex nose of cherries and cocoa and elegant balsamic and spice notes. In the mouth it is full, enveloping, with a charming elegance that is typical of Sangiovese, excellently balanced and a pleasant, sweet, fresh and fruity finish.
