This Sforzato is incomparible to any other wine from Valtellina - the process of drying the grapes for production decreases the acidity and the formation of aromas, but that gives this wine remarkable structure, roundness and persistence. In order to be branded a DOCG the Sforzato must be aged for a minimum of 20 months, of which 12 months is spent in wooden barrels. Ruby red in colour that typically tends to garnet through ageing, with an intense complexity derived from the drying of the grapes. A wine of great finesse that can age for over 10 years in the bottle. Best served with game or old and mature cheeses.
